I'm led to believe that CSR means "cruiser"...and the R in Z1R = road.

It doesn't mean anything. Matchless had a number of CSR models in the 50s & 60s,
including a ..Matchless G12 CSR (650cc). Kawasaki made a 650CSR.

I think you'd first have to figure out what "SR" stands for, then the CSR is the custom version of the SR?

Ltd. should have meant "limited edition" but it seems to only be limited by how many they could sell.

I used to deal with them ( CSR's) for 10 yrs. Large Printing Plant. Ran receiving dock last 10 yrs till I retired. It was 50/50. 1/2 idiots. 1/2 cool people.

Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
