Wow, very nice work. Can you explain how you got the tank lines so nice? Did you take the tank apart at the seam lines to make the knee dents. Also do have a link for your rear shocks. Thanks Doug

Thanks! It started with just drawing a template on the tank where I wanted my guidelines to be. Then using a nylon hammer started hammering from the center working the way out in a circular motion. The reason the lines are so clean are from body filler and sanding/ filler/ sand to get the perfect lines before final primer and paint. For the seams I just used a cresent wrench to slowly work my way around the tank folding bit by bit under, until they were all flat. finished with a little hammering. Note for anyone doing this, make sure that you fold the seams all the way around flat to the inside at the front of the tank where the rubber tank mounts slide in. I made the mistake of not folding them far enough, so when I got my tank back from my painter I realized that I didn't have clearance to get past the folded seams. So the post mounts are getting cut off and Nuts are going to have to be welded onto the frame to allow the rubbers (with screws through em) to be adjustable. That way I can screw them all the way in to get clearance. then screw the rubbers out enough so they fit snug into the slots in tank.
the piggyback shocks are all over ebay and a pretty cheap, I'll be upgrading to Ohlins when I can afford it. Here's a link to the ones I got.
Very nice work. Like that look and what you've done to the tank and rear section.
Is that a 100/90 or 110/90-19 on front?
Can you come up with the color code for the green?

I believe it's a 100/90-19 as for the paint code, I have a message in with my painter and I'll get back to you when I get it.

That Kawasaki Green looks incredible on this bike! Good job! I've been debating what to paint my '79 KZ650 D2, and really wanted to do her up in this green or the Candy Lime green. Some folks say "great color, but not for a vintage bike" - I have to disagree. That looks simply amazing!

sorry this took so long BlackZ1R, been a little busy. The front wheel is a Metzeler Marathon ME 880 100/90-19. And painter says it's called "lime green" but can't get a code due to legalities with Kawasaki?? sounds kinda weird to me, but I guess Kawasaki is very protective of their paint codes.
