I don't think it will bring as much as that other tank because the other tank had a good layer of genuine Z1 rust in the tank.

Being really low on the tank and the dark color, you really could not see it but it bothered me so I saw this one on Ebay and went for it. It came in the old original kawasaki box with the exact part number on it so I do not need to paint or decal it - it's a perfect match.
Original paint tanks are scarce and the high prices they are generating no longer surprise me. There are, however, deals to be had but it requires a bit of patience and luck to land them. I picked up a tank (KZ1000B1) (never had been on a bike = didn't even have the pin for the latch installed telling me there never was a gascap installed). The seller didn't bother to clean off the 30 years of dust. It looked terrible on the eBay photos and it did, however, have a small dent on the side. I washed it, waxed it, and I had a great tank...I paid US$10.00 + shipping...all because the seller didn't present the tank well in the eBay ad.

Don't you just love it when the shipping costs more than the part.
Yours has got to be the deal of the century - nice going there!

Yeah, that still brings a smile to me...and it was several years ago. Your buy, however, doesn't bother me...pristine parts are increasingly rare and that makes it a sellers market.

eBay is a fairly weird place and I figure that all it takes to drive the prices into the stratosphere are two novice bidders with no patience...and there are entirely too many people out there with more money than sense
