I used that spray max can on my frame. I'm happy with it, however it doesn't seem to have the same depth and wet look of urethane, so I'm not going to use it for the bodywork.

You need to wet sand and polish.

It's Chrysler Go Jolly green. It was a shade or two off the original KX green I wanted. I had it tinted and resprayed my frame. It's a little "too green" Go Jolly on left, KX on right: i114.photobucket.com/albums/n248/Jeekinz...20KX250/IMG_0574.jpg

The guy at the paint shop, while a nice guy, doesn't know how to tint paint for shit. As a matter of fact, it's hard finding someone who can tint since there all computerized now. When I went to pick up the tinted color it was waaaaay off. 6-7 shades at least! I said, "how 'bout a little more green?" .... "a little more" ..... "just a hair more." I could see the guy was getting pissed. But I wound up with a perfect match.

why not just use spary cans for the colors and then put a 2 part urethane clear over top.
works great looks great, lasts.

alot of highend airbrush work is done with waterbase acrylic paint 3.00 a bottle then cleared over with a good clear. my tripple trees were sprayed with Krylon black then cleared over with quality eurathane clear. mark you are right. paint stote wiull even build you a spray bomb in your paint code reasonable. you can clear over newspaper these days and still read the article the money bike paint jobs are done with printed rice paperglues to the tank and cleared over

Great idea Mark. I had thought of it also but never tried it. I don't know what type of spray paint would be best. You've done it this way?

hey ramtough, can you use the urethane clear over the water based stuff? What brand is the water based?

Createx and badger The Badger Candies are awsome for true fire flames the Superman Kryptonie was done with createx pearls before I knew about the Badger brand candys. the I did a white metalflake and used House of Kolor 4 ounce premix for the flames

createx at dick blick art materials badger brand in the airbrush section at pivco the house of Kolor i bought online from from tcp global and some other guy from ebay. my ppg products mostly surplus from a local bodyshop (free) automotive color and supply for the eurathane clear tried the pivco clear also not that much different and a gallon is the same price as a quart fro auto color and supply. hope this helps for the budget minded

i used Duplicolor candy red spray can under urethane 2 pt clear.
