Actually that side cover is all one piece, including the Titanium section. I just masked it off and painted the front Titanium and the rest red. since there are no pods for these carburetors, these are for a Yamaha and they are 2x2 meaning one filter for two carbs. The spacing on these carbs is the same as for the KZ550 but the carb openings are much larger than those on a 550. The carburetors are Keihin 34CVs. Even though the spacing on the head is the same as the 650/750/900/1000, the carburetors use an offset boot to bring them closet together. They do this because the frame is too close to the back of the carbs and therefore they bing the carbs inside the frame.

otakar, those bikes are beautiful! I'm in the hunt for a GPz like yours to restore. I gotta ask what shade paint on the bikes? The color really makes em stand out.

That is a Nissan color. I can give you the code/formulation tomorrow. Yes the base is the same color on both bikes. Mine just has the "Midnight Purple" and "Titanium" stripe. you can find the specs to that bike in "Bike Of The Month" March. It is not actually a GPZ It started out life as a 81 1000CSR

Very nice! Is it the same red on both, or just similar?

Not the same year, but a guy over on the Honda SOHC forum is selling a GPZ 1100:

He is a good guy and used to frequent this forum as well although I haven't noticed any posts recently.

Thanks for the link kpier998, I checked it out and she looks good. But I'm looking for a 1982 B2 model before Kawi did the redesign, something in salvageable condition and ready for a rebuild. B)

Nice paint (and I've commented on your GPz clone in numerous other threads) but I just don't get why the Zephyr line didn't really take off and be popular...the looks are so clean

The Zephyr is still available in other parts of the world but here in the US the public gave it a luke warm reception. If I could find a ZR1100 I would build one with a 83/84 GPZ1100 engine punched to 1200 and just junk the original engine. If the Idiots at Kawasaki would have given it a 16valve head since they designed a new top end for the engine anyway they may have had some success with it. The engine on the zr1100 is a ZN1200 engine with a new to end. The marketing idiots failed in two ways. They shrunk the engine to 1100 and took a couple steps back in cylinder head technology. So I believe it was just the marketing idiots as it usually is. Kawasaki has not had any decent marketing since the seventies.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI wish I could afford this right now. But since I have not yet found a job it would be kind of hard.

Yeah, I'm watching that one too! No chance I'll buy, but it is still fun to watch.
