how many coats of VHT? was created by 9am53
I got my header back from my mechanic today all nice and sandblasted. I cleaned it off with brake cleaner and put on 2 coats of VHT flat black...will this be enough? Since I am not sanding and adding more paint like I usually do when painting I am not sure how much is required. I thought I would let it sit for a couple days and add a couple more just to make sure it's nice and protected.

It looked so nice, all curvy and dressed in black...I was obliged to buy dinner!

Just chiming in with an old old tip- paint the inside of the head pipes with the VHT before you run the engine and it will help keep the exterior paint from burning off.

cool, I will put a few more coats on and make sure to do the inside. Then I am going to cure it with my camping heater...we'll see how it turns out!
