Duck, haha not as hardcore as explaining it to my wife. What year would that be? Googled it but came up empty handed.
Bkitchen, the battery is located on the bottom of the seat, just behind the downtubes. You can see a little box with the reg/rec underneath it if you look at the larger picture. It's a 12V3A.
Kawtoy, I actually looked at some XS tanks after you posted the project pics if I remember correctly, but I think I'm going for something more radical IF I end up changing the tank. I actually started working at Airtech a couple of weeks ago so I will probably dig into the molds we have. Found a shell that I like just gotta make it work with the Z1 tunnel:whistle:

I have a tank from a XS750 if you want. It has the recessed cafe style sides on it. I can take some measurements if you are interested. Tell you the truth, I think the tank on there now looks perfect and I wouldn't change it.

Ofcourse I remember the black bastich! It was good to see another cafe'd KZ out there when I was starting my project last year.
I'm still down in San Diego, so I drive up here every morning. Costa Mesa huh? It would be cool to have a SoCal meet/ride sometime. I remember someone tried to put something like that together last year but it all fell through. I know there's more members down here, DasTeufel is in Temecula and we've been meaning to meet up. I'm down to go ride sometime now that my topend is done...

I'm in for a group KZ meet and ride! :woohoo:
I've also been planning on riding down there to talk to Max at Airtech to figure out which direction I'm heading as far as a fairing for my 650.
I just wish they were open on weekends. :pinch:
And that is one heck of a bare-bones cafe' bike.....sweeeeet!

RRRR Sweet let's do it! I remember the BBQ being a hurdle last time, maybe we should just meet up somewhere (coffee shop? God knows I need coffee in the morning...)and ride out. Have someone who knows the area pic a route.
Whatcha lookin at for your 650?
