Picked it up for 20 bucks from a guy who advertised it as a 'junk fairing' was even on ebay but he must have tucked it away from the prying eyes of Zed junkies!! Tell you what, have been chasing one of these original La Parisienne fairings for years and this one kind of come from nowhere. Have to send the bottom to a mate for mould but other then that just need to pull the finger out come winter start 'The Bubba Project 2009'. Confused about the Calipers comment though! Cheers Oz

usually on bikes with dual front disck's the fork tubes are swapped to the oppisite side's so the calliper's mount in the rear.

If I am correct There was an option for the Z1 that had dual disks up front and were mounted on the front from the factory. Someone chime in if I am wrong.

Can't find it now but I remember there being a picture of a MINT Z1 w/factory option dual discs in the gallery somewhere...
And I was fairly sure that the calipers on Z's and KZ's came mounted on the front, it just made more common sense to put them on the back so everyone started switching. Yes/no?

yeah i started at least one thread a while back for my ltd front disk/calipers...and the consensus was swap forks and spin the lowers and mount em in back.....my ltd reprint era release says kawi went to putting em in back due to "interesting' handling when in front......and less rotating mass..radius.. ..unsprung ....ect...i just was pointing out that the picture had those guys all running em in front on their kz-z1-to stir the pot....and see what folks thought:P
by the way twenty years ago i simply HAD to have that fairing...no clue...no internet...i found a pitchler fairings german catalog finally and they were a bit different....nice score..good luck

Pretty cool...spoked-wheel Zephyr. Upper fairing needs to be brought down about 19 feet - in my opinion - but other than that...coooool.
