I didn't see an easy way to get into it to get the head light out, so I guess I may have to use the sawzall.

There should be a slot on the bottom side of the headlight.
press a screwdriver in the slot and you should be able to turn the chrome cover counterclockwise and unscrew it.
Everything should come apart then.

Anything you need to know about the fairing/wires/healight
should be here.

Wow, give me the dunce cap. I never thought to try to look for directions for the fairing online.

Thanks for pointing out my oversight. I guess I can skip the destruction. :( Well, a ten pound hammer would probably be more fun anyway.

I finally got around to completing this task.

Wasn't too tricky other than a few minor details that you'd never know about until you dug into it. The headlight from the fairing had clearance issues on the right (on the bike) side of the headlight mount, but a little grinding solved that. I also had to do a bit of guessing and checking with the signal lights because the first few set-ups I tried, the bulbs weren't pulling enough current to make the flashers flash.

It's not beautiful, but it's not too bad for home-made.

Now if I can just track down that idle issue I'll have a fifty dollar motorcycle running like five hundred bucks.
