Best Roadrace Platform?

how do you eliminate any front end wobble when dropping the rake?

I've got a 550LTD, and want to drop the front end by an inch or two, but would that introduce anything I need to account for elsewhere? I know its obviously not a sport bike, but if I can increase the performance a bit, I would like it. I'm not into laid back bikes, and this one's definitely got some room for sportier improvements.
