Not quite a match?
06 Nov 2025 19:17
On my build I'm trying to get things roughed out before I blow it apart. My control levers don't match exactly and it bothers me. What say you? All parts sourced so far are from various Kawasaki's and I can't seem to match the clutch and brake levers. As far as I know they are from Ninja 500? The clutch has the mirror mount but the brake side does not. Probably just more trial and error but things at the end that are driving me crazy.

Those are Kawasaki parts for sure but not matching, if matching they would both have the mirror mounts (or not) I am using a 650 Ninja (twin) set and both have the mirror mounts.

I have had this same issue, and found it similarly frustrating. You would think that Nissin, who makes a lot of Kawasaki’s brake master cylinders, would make clutch levers that match, but they mostly don’t. Or at least not ones that I have been able to find. I settled for a blanking plug in my clutch lever to eliminate the mirror hole (I use bar end mirrors). And I have a ZX6R clutch lever with no mirror hole that I might put on at some point, but it is not reach adjustable the way my lever is now.

I run one mirror on my Z1, the blanking plug in my brake lever mount is a button head screw, (with black oxide finish).

Probably not what you want and definitely not matching but would suffice to get past the Highway Patrol inspection if they require TWO mirrors. But just purchase the clamping piece and clamp it on to your existing master cylinder, hole is built into the piece not the master. This is a Suzuki part but would match your master if bars are 7/8 NOT 1". Just a temporary fix because the mirror is Behind the bar not Forward. Soo many options... Just not versed in "Newer Stuff", Sorry!

If you cannot find a matched pair on the used market, there are also aftermarket levers as well as new factory levers.

I considered that as well and while I don't think it looks bad to run with one, I think it would bother me.

If I ride on the highway, I put the second mirror on. But I ride on back roads, not much traffic, no multi lanes. (And if there is other traffic I'm usually traveling a little faster than they are). A little more effort to see behind, but I'm sometimes a slave to fashion, haha

Some of the older year Ninja 500’s have mirror mounts and still 14mm bore. Just have to search harder to find them.

True but the OP stated they could be from a Ninja 500 which uses a 14mm bore M/C. In addition to that, it is a decently well known bolt-on mod by Zrx owners wanting a little more power, but less feel on their dual 6-piston Tokico calipers.14mm is good for single disc, but dual disc is typically 5/8".
