Thanks Matt,
But not willing to let this beat me I ended up drilling out the allen head bolt and removing the rest of the bolt after it came out.
the reason it was so stubborn is it had red locktite on the threads I had to heat it up to get the rest of the bolt out.
Now that its out I will make a tool to fit

Good deal. Mine cost $50. To have a machine shop make it. That was before this came out. Might be just as cost effective to buy then make.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Every fork seems to be different. Make a tool for the KZ650 it won't likely work on a KZ1000. Use air tools, they spin off the bolts 90% of the time. The bolts are soft enough to drill the head off easily otherwise. After that easy to see how to make a holder tool, but I never bothered.
