Refinishing fork sliders...

I have two or more containers of NEVER DULL @ home.
And one of them I have had since at least 1977! I don't think you can use up a whole can in one lifetime

The other ones I bought at garage sales ( can't pass up a good deal for something manly for the garage )

It works pretty good, but I "think" Mothers gives a better shine... But then again I'm getting old and can't see or remember things.

I use it (Nevr-Dull) from the can, small circlular work....wipe with a diaper, then use a dremel polish wheel on it bone dry (tube sliders I mean). never used "Mother's", tho....am partial to semi-chrome (father-in-law to be gets THAT stuff for free!)
The neverdull works well on our mag wheels, especially the outer edges and "spoke" accents

I have a can of Never-Dull that I hardly use since I'm useing this other stuff called Master Formula. After seeing these pics I'll try some on mine since their looking kind of ratty. Polishing with a dremel sounds like a good idea too.

Nevr-Dul works great on aluminum and chrome. But for polished aluminum, I give top marks to Simichrome. It's harder to use...you have to work small areas, and it turns your rag black right away. But it buffs off SHINY, and leaves some kind of coating, almost like a waxed finish. Mmmmmm... Shiiiiny!

The 'after' photos could have been taken when the bike was new. Nice!

I was lookin at mine the other night and decided to clean them up.. but compared to yours...

I used the tube stuff, never dull, adn rubbing compound with 0000 steel wool... They sure look a lot nicer.. but not gorgeous like yours..

Never dull worked great in removing any left over dried polish. Seem to work best with Tarnish as opposed to the polishing jobs were facing..

Looks good no name! What type of bike is that on?

Both of yours look great. I've been meaning to do mine as well. I guess I'll have lots of time over the winter, if I'm brave enough to sit out in the shed.

I've used mothers, and never dull. Lateley I'm using 3M superduty rubbing compound for everything. It takes the oxidation off the aluminum, turning the cotton ball black, just like mothers or neverdull. So, oxidized aluminum...aluminum oxide...hmmm..just like super fine sandpaper. I'd sand the fork sliders first, though. They look great you guys!

Next time take the clearcoat off with TalStrip or Petrochem gasket remover. I buffed mine out on the wheel. They are shinier than new, but I wasn't going for originality anyway.
