It actually has some quite subtle curves and angles in various directions, I susepct that was for it to tuck up around the original exhaust system. It is curved in the direction yours is, but by much less and the foot is rotated at an angle as opposed to being at right angles to the bracket. It looks like a lot of thought went into it's original shape and fit.
