While I had the shocks apart I test fitted them and there was still an inch or more clearance between the tire and anything else so when I buy my new shocks I will get ones with the same min length.
This may be my first bobber but I've been modifying suspensions on trucks, snowmobiles and dragsters for over 20yrs I'm no stranger to it.
