Cam Lever Angle Inspection. The manual probably has a section on adjusting the rear brake. It's probably in the Scheduled Maintenance section... cam lever angle checked w the brake fully applied, most likely, as that's how it's done on my 81 650.

What brake shoes did you get? Others had mentioned brake squeal, so I sanded the leading edges of the shoes and also very carefully & very evenly sanded the glazing off the drum.* I used 100 grit. With the wheel leaned up against a fence, I sanded the area at the bottom to minimize getting any dust on the wheel, wiped off the dust w a clean cloth soaked in denatured alcohol, then rotated the wheel to do the next area. Afterwards, I washed down the sanding area at the fence w water.

* WARNING ! Do not breathe the dust as it contains Asbestos.

For Z!, info about the brake lever angle is found on pages 18-19 of the FSM in KZr's FILEBASE.
