I'm over 200 and trust me you will not need to. Those valves have been added.
It will be safe to just compress the caps down. The valves seal themselves, no need to
worry, just ignore them.

Some 440s came stock w the fork air valve assys. The 83 Ltd did, among others. Check out the diagrams at Kawasaki.com for stuff you aren't sure about. A model specific factory service manual is handy to have.
