Kz650 rear wheel spacer
06 Apr 2013 21:21 - 06 Apr 2013 21:32
I have a kz650b and i am in process of swaping out the wire wheels for mags. I am using c model wheels, I am having a issue with the right side spacer. Does the spacer sit inside then dust seal and butt up Against the brake caliper bracket? I have both c and d spacers and none seem to work. The c spacer has about a 1/2 play and the d is to long to even fit

Here's how the spacers are arranged on the KZ650-C models:

You must have all the correct spacers for that paticular model. I used a complete wheel and spacers from a 83 550c though it is a 16, it fit perfect. Although mine is a B1 it should work for your model, I would think, if you use the full set of spacers from the model the wheel is from.

I have it like the picture but still had a 1/4 gap between the spacer and brake bracket. I bought this as model c spacers but something is not right, if someone has spacers i will buy them

Just to see what would happen i put stainless washers to fill the gap but now it is hard to rotate the wheel after the axle is tight
After looking at it more, the brake bracket is rubbing against the disc

Did you install a KZ650-C swingarm and chain adjusters? Ed

I did buy a c swingarm with chain adjusters, and it has the same dimensions, the only difference was the torque link mount

Good. One of the KZ650-C chain adjusters should have a flat washer welded to it (see pic). That adjuster should go on the right hand side of the bike with the washer facing the wheel. Ed

That spacer looks way too short. Take some measurements of your spacers and post them. Maybe someone has the same ones and will reply on this.

Also the drive hub from a B model is Different than a C model. You will need that too.

For sure your right chain adjuster is wrong (see posting above for pic). As far as the other spacers go, see the diagram I provided above and check the pics below. Ed
