Thanks, that paints a much better picture. Using that 18/40 will be fine (2.2FD). At 130kph in 5th I will be 156 more rpms than stock gearing..big deal.. B)

So the R1 47T is 9.3" diameter, 40T 7.9"

i'm 18/38 on a 2000 r1 rear wheel with 520 chain and sprockets.
