Lets Speak Sprokets. was created by Boostable
Ok guys, I am putting all the finishing pieces to finish this build and I want to get the sprockets nailed down and would like some advice.

I want this bike to be hell out of the hole. I am not that concerned about top end in any way, but gotta be able to cruise at 70. Pretty much want it balls out til 120~130ish..

So what do you think?

if you want balls out to 100-110 mph go 14-35 thats about 2.50 ratio. You will turn about 5000 on the tach at 70mph.

it comes out off the hole sweet, can also light it up 40 feet will alittle rpm+clutch at the start....and makes the trans a close ratio thought the gears without rpm drop off on shifts.

not for top end speed

go here and learn to use... gearingcommander.com/

Keep in mind, one tooth on front is about equal to 3 teeth on the rear.

Remember, don't work on your bike so much you never ride it.

No catalog of links, just a file I've created with useful, motorcycle related information. It's not alphabetized.More just what I think might be handy to keep.

Sorry guys, I'm running a 40t on back, NOT 50T!

Don't know why I was thinking 50t? It's not a stunt bike...... :pinch:

  When I installed the Cyclone engine in my BSA I had to make an overlay sprocket for the rear - 54 teeth! Of course the counter-sprocket was another monster - 22 teeth! Ed

The sprockets came with the rear wheel when I bought it from a guy who used to drag race.
I just never changed them, I've been running around like this for yrs now. Yes, I said yrs. These bikes REALLY ARE bullet proof.

Not to mention it's SO much fun to spank these crotch rockets for a few light poles. Then to see their faces when they find out the bike is older than most of them.... Love it!
