Carbon Fiber Side Covers and Tail Fin...

I am on another forum, zrxoa, and well there is a guy who organized enough members to get CF pieces made for the zrx. Prices are better than buying new OEM and they look the business.
I desperately want to do something to finish my long time project and I believe this is the ticket. I would need minimum of ten people who want their parts carbon fiber for the company to make them.

HOW MANY people are interested?! Getting side covers in carbon fiber for the price you could get the crappy aftermarket ones seems to me like a no brainer but there would have to be interest for the comapany to make the molds so they can produce them.
I like the Z1 tail fin with the oval light but if you guys are interested in the later tail fin that would be just fine as well.

Delivery times?
Product satisfaction guarantee?
Pay up front isn't a problem, getting hosed- is.

I would be interested, but would need to know what the cost is we are talking about. My plastics are good, however I like the idea of carbon side covers with painted tail like the later ZRX 1200's where they had the mat black sides. Would need more information before I could commit.

I would assume the prices would be very close to this. If I knew how to make these I would not hesitate to do them and sell them at the cheapest price I could just because there aren´t enough tricked out z´s out there.
Trust me, this is a big company and the guys on the zrx board are never iceholes. Just check the post and see for yourself. These guys are straight up brothers who are always helping other members on the board when their bikes when they crash out or with money when they are down and out. The Mad Duck is a member here and can totally attest to what I state as the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I just want to order some CF parts for my bike desparately but can´t afford to buy ten sets just so I can have one that does the job.

you need to view those posts! sign up, no problem but you have to see the quality of those pieces! No amateur made those and that is a guarantee. I just wish I had the know how and the equipment to do it. I wouldn´t worry about if anyone would buy these. I would do it just because I know that they would.
I may even just make up a screen name so you guys could just sign in under that just so you can see without the minute it takes to sign up.

No prices for tail pieces.

He offers discounts, $15 for side covers and $15 for front fenders for ZRXOA members this month. Maybe with a combined order from KZRider he'll offer a similar discount.

Can you get 10 people to go for the Z1 side covers and tail fins and 10 people to go for the KZ900/1000 side covers and tail fins and maybe 10 people who would like the 650 body panels?

I would love to have carbon fiber bodywork for my Z1, my 650 would look sic too.

Well, that was just an example, you see the quality involved and I am going to order a few of those for my rex when I get back from brazil but I assume that the pieces will be similar which are cheaper than stock rex parts. The tail fin might cost 100 or around there I assume, maybe as much as a fender. At any rate for them to make these pieces we have to group up and commit. If I get a list of names of people that are serious about it I can contact them and then we will have a price and a delivery date, etc.
I know there has to be at least ten people who are willing. Even with the 650 crowd. I just want them to make these things! I would buy new stock if kaw made them but they don´t and the garbage plastic they are pushing off doesn´t justify me buying. But the cf parts are trick and I know that they would look the business on these bikes.

My curiosity would be how they would do the stock mounting tabs on the factory sidecovers. From my experience, they appear much more involved than the ZRX pieces. I am also suprised they went with a standard weave instead of the twill weave, normally the twill is prefered for cosmetics. The prices are definitely good for carbon parts, but that is a reflection of the laminate being fiberglass with a single layer of carbon on the face. But really, for cosmetics, that doesn't matter much. I wonder too who is actually doing the composite work, because it looks as though Slingshot Racing is simply the vendor. I would also ask about the specific clear coating they use on the parts after removal, and the prep the parts get prior to coating. It would be important for anyone wanting to top coat them, and a sense of longevity of the factory applied coating.
