Kidkawie,
We sell dozens of these kits monthly and if ever there's a quality issue we know almost immediately.
as you can only imagine....

I was pondering some sort of fluid contamination which would cause swelling in the original components as well until the customer emailed the pics.
They simply won't fit his caliper.
I hate to think that there's a simple answer.

Not so good outcome.
Knowing that the online microfiche is marginally less than 100% accurate, I checked the old acetate fiche dated Aug.83 (KZ1000-B3) for a possible different dust boot part number. To no avail. The part number referenced was that same 43054-003 previously referenced and shown in the images. Simply too small.
Interestingly though, the piston in the evilbay images has that distinct taper as shown in my file images.
Still baffled.
As far as part numbers, I don't have them in hand and can only communicate via email with our customer.
Thanks KidKawie, apprecaite you.
The KZ650-C1 front and rear caliper piston dust seals are also listed as part #43054-003 in the January 1977 and September 1977 printed parts catalogs, so I guess they can be ruled out. Ed

You guys may be on to something. That seal is VERY compelling. I've got to email the customer again to get some more specific dimensions on that boot.
The slider pin boots aren't even close, but that dust boot is half the battle. Hopefully it'll be "close enough".
Keep it up! Thanks guys.
