zx636 to kz conversion

just completed an 03 zx636 to kz swingarm conversion for a kzrider member.
while it was all still fresh on my mind i wanted to write out how it goes for my own memory and to show others how i pulled it off.
i had to mill .075 off each side to get it narrowed down to fit the frame.

the zx has this for a pivot bushing.
which also had to be cut down .150
so after some brainstorming/meditating i came up with this for a solution.
i reached inside and cut the i.d. the amount that i needed to shorten the spacer.
i then machined the o.d. the same amount.
that allowed me to slide the race(thats what the steel cap looking things are on the ends,they have koyo #'s on the ends)further onto the aluminum sleeve,thereby shortening it

after i had the arm narrowed and the bushing narrowed it was now time to machine the spacer/dustshield/bushing/reducer. :ohmy:
here is what i came up with.
the longer one extends through the thrust bearing and into the axle bushing.
and the shorter one naturally goes to the other side. :whistle:

That's using the old melon for something other than a hat rack. Nice work Leon. Some times you just have to have the parts in your hands to decide on a solution. I remember thinking how lucky I was that the GSXR swingarm was narrower (is that a real word?) than the KZ. All I had to do was make bushings. This is a good solution for those using wider swingarms.
