Sandy: thanks for the info..

I belive that the PO of my bike installed a Z1 front end on my bike.. and that is why I have the 6 bolt rotors. I want to go back to 4 bolt and newer brake system.

Well, I went to buykawasaki and looked at their part numbers between a 75 z1 900 and my 76 kz 900. The part numbers for spokes do not match :( but it also listed the spoke sizes, and they match ! inner and outter. I am thinking the reason the numbers dont match is because of a diffrent finish on them ?

wireman: yes, I had a thread about my brakes and we couldnt figure out what calipers I had on my bike. Also, you couldnt ID the type of forks I had.

So... perhaps I should jump in the dark and see if a 4 bolt hub will lace up on my wheel ?

yep those are z1 rotors and hub im still drawing a blank on the calipers.the fork legs look like 76-77 kz(no reflectors)but something looks odd about the mounting lugs for calipers, maybe its the calipers throwing me off:whistle: .i have no clue what the fender is off of.now i feel better!:P

I wonder if those forks are off of a Police KZ?
Anyway...I looked at My (74 on the neck)Z and it has a different caliper than the one on Your bike, and it has reflectors on the forks.I suppose I could get a pic of it,if You want, but it's kinda ugly outside right now,and I'm just a lazy ass.

wireman: oh, now my fender isn't correct ! :( well, I went out this morning and measured the caliper mounting bolt spacing on the forks. They come up to 55mm spacing eye to eye. I thought that in 76 they went to newer style calipers that had 72mm spacing ? and also on those forks the calipers seem to be lower down on the forks ?

Sandy: thanks for the pic offer, but I dont need it :) I'd like to see a pic of your bike tho.. I always like to see pics of other people's kz's.

Here is my plan. Change the front wheel hub to 4 bolt type, change forks to 72mm caliper spacing type, and use the 72mm spaced calipers I have here and 4 bolt rotors I also have acquired. Find the correct fender(old one isnt in great shape anyway).

btchalice: Thanks for the picture of the fender, it sure looks diffrent than the one I have. Is that pic your bike ? if it is.. could you measure the caliper mounting bolt spacing ? :)
