Where are you at? If you don't mind mail order Dennis Kirk has a large selection of tires, tubes and rim strips. There on line and there shipping is fast.

Depends on what you mean by good. Any large dealership could no doubt fix you up right away, though their prices tend to be high, but not always unreasonable considering the level of service.
I almost always buy tires from an independent shop that gives me great service before, during and after the sale, but once in a great while I have to wait a day or two for them to order what I need since their inventory is not nearly as great as the large dealerships around here.
Mail order places are usually the cheapest, but you are left to find or provide mounting, balancing and disposal of old tires. Also, any warranty problems become more complicated by long distance.
It depends on your priorities and what's available where you live.

Dennis Kirk has reasonable prices, I live not too far away from Chaparral Motorsports ( www.chaparral-racing.com/home.aspx ), I got some skins there before- service sucked. My shop just buys them for me now.

What bike is it for? If you're on a 900/1000/1100, I'd recommend Bridgestone Spitfires. I posted a tire question a few months back and took the collective forum's advice and have been very pleased with them!

I've had good luck with Dennis Kirk and Bike Bandit. If you're an AMA member bike bandit gives you a discount. My current rear tire I got from the local cycle gear store. If the wheel is off the bike the balance is free I believe. My current rear is a Bridgestone Battlax 021 it is a great tire. It's a dual compound sport touring tire so it grips like crazy and has great wear.
