To be exact, that is an AVON AM21 MT90-16 5.5" wide. My favorite rear tire of all time. It is too bad it is not available in an 18"

hello! i recently purchased a gs1100 swingarm and hope to be doing the swap on my 1980 kz1000ltd in the near future. i see that you had some of the same questions that i have. what pivot bolt did you use and where did you get any spacers you may have used? what axle did you use? did you have to make/buy spacers for the rear wheel? if so where did you get those? was there any modification to the rear brake master cylinder? ive seen a few pictures of bikes with the gs1100 swingarm and the rear brake push-rod looks different like it has been moved or modified? any other tips of suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thank you...

I used washers from Ace Hardware as spacers-cheap.Used stock rear master cylinder and brake line. Used an earlier brake torque rod (the flat one) from a KZ so I could lighten it up a tad by drilling "speed holes" in it.Plug and play pretty much.bj

I used a thin washer and a "regular" thickness washer on each side. They were a snug fit but tapping them in did the trick. i have a 140 tire on it and I think you can get a 150 in it. I lucked out and got the chain gaurd for free when I got my arm and it fits fine. I did have to do some grinding on the brake arm but not a lot.

thank you guys! my swingarm came with everything except the rear axle. i was wonderring what gs1100 sub model i need to look for when i am trying to purchase an axle? ive seen G and GL and i was wonderring if it makes a difference? and what rear shocks are you running? id like to get longer shocks to make up for any drop in the rear with the new swingarm.

I am trying to do this mod myself and was wondering what some of you used to space out the axle. I have washers for the pivot point, but there is enough room on the axle that I don't want to use washers. The axle I have came with three spacers of some type, I cant seem to figure a combination of them that works.
Could someone put a photo of how they spaced their axle for this?
