Yessir.I plan on rebuilding the forks and installing them up 1 inch in the trees to start.Then go ride like a maniac and see how the bike handles.Thanks,Plummen.bj

Very interested to see/hear how this works out. Been thinking about swapping out the forks on my CSR for sometime now with straight ones.

Are you chaning out the whole front end or just the forks? I ask because I thought I read somewhere that the trees on the CSR/LTD models are set at a different angle than other models to account for the leading axle. Could be wrong.

is there any differance in the trail built into those trees to compensate for the leading axle forks? B)

Not sure about the 1000, but on the 550 with offset axles there is very little offset built into the triples, you could almost draw a straight line thru the fork legs and steering stem, there is probably 12-15mm of offset. The triples that go with the straight forks have nearly 50mm of offset, the increase in offset is about equal to the difference between the axle placement difference on the lower fork leg, making the total of the two measurement nearly equal.

Most likely it will be similar on the bigger bikes
