i wish i could say buying kz parts but no such luck!! ill give you a hint...i work for fujifilm in the magnetic tape division. we make high end data storage media here in massachusetts. im going to qualify two new machines for winding tape this time. ive been there three times so far and have yet to find someone who can find me parts quickly depending on where you are over there. normally to buy something from there and have it shipped here costs way more than its worth. one day ill discover a source and do some pickup while im there....steve

Well if you find a good supplier, let us know!

Depending on what you can get your hands on, I would imagine that some of the folks here would enjoy giving said supplier some good business!

Can we say group buy? If we all pitch in some for shipping, I would imagine it wouldn't be too bad!

Your thoughts? :)

where do you guys get all those spiffy engine guards i'm seeing? I'm lokin to get rid of the old highway bars.

Going back to the top of this thread, it sounds like you got some leads to find case saver engine guards, but what don't you like about the highway bars, are they too big? I put highway bars on my big bike and they have paid for themselves twice now when the bike has tipped over.(Lets just say that my daughter has problems backing up:( ) They definitely take the weight of the bike sooner than an engine guard would.

I would be interested in hearing Nevco's answer on this topic.

As of right now, I want highway bars mainly because I have some darn long legs!!

Can you clamp on foot pegs to engine guards too?

And sorry for the newbie question, but what's the main difference between the two? Is it just how much they stick out from the sides?

Here's a photo of a 750 with highway bars. I swiped it out of the Gallery, it is Twist's bike. I think highway bars would do a better job of protecting your pipes, and most can be adapted for pegs. I don't find that position very comfortable but my legs aren't real long. They do reach the ground though!

I have an 81 kz750 LTD and have searched for weeks on line and can not find any engine guards for my bike, do you know if a pair from a 79 kz650 would fit?
