That's a good question, but having replaced the ball type with tapered roller bearings I would never use the ball type again. The tapered rollers have WAY more bearing contact area, provided a dead smooth feel, and will certainly outlast the ball type. If you ever have the front end pulled apart do yourself a favor and make the switch. Ed
