cracked triple tree was created by Drod13
I shaved off the tach, speedo mounts and stripped the paint
and found this...Do you think it's safe to weld up or get another and start fresh? Thanks all!

Aluminum or steel? both can be welded to repair the crack, ask around at the welding shops locally.

It helps a bunch if you put your year/model in the signature line. Ed

It would probably be cheaper and safer to replace it.

I don't weld but my buddies do at work so I'll ask them what they think.I trust their welds with my life...I have to, I hang off the sides of cranes with d-rings they weld up for me to hook my harness to.I also ride a v-star that has the neck raked and I ride that with confidence. It's a sick rake with a total of 52 degree's.

I hear what your saying and I should probably just get a new one but I think my welders could make it as strong if not stronger than stock.I haven't asked them yet cause I'm on vacation but I'll probably swing by work.

they also extended my swing arm and welded the back half of my frame.

Check Kawasaki.com to see which other years/models use the same as yours then check eBay; it's loaded with them. They're very inexpensive (around $20 or less). Ed

Drod13, have it welded it up and see if you like it. If your not comfortable with the results, I have one you can have. PM me if you want it.

Good luck

I had the same thing happen on my project street bike... upper for mine. I took it to my local motorcycle speed shop - guy runs a top fuel Kawasaki and can weld circles around everybody... he said replace is the only option !

Depending on what it is they are only $10-20 at any salvage yard... the lower might be a bit more $$.
