Worse thing is it will not wear as long, stretch the chain out to fit the sprockets wear pattern. Then you'll be up for a new set and chain again. Only you can make the judgement since you get to look at the wear now.

The chain will wear out faster than normal. Thing is, a decent O ring or X ring chain will cost close to $100 and new sprockets are maybe $30 so it's a loser to use the old sprockets. Check prices at Z1 Enterprises.

You can sometimes get away with using the old front sprocket because it is case hardened and will last a long time. But rear sprockets are soft and can destroy your new chain.

Polar Bus is right. ;) You should never skimp on bearings, brakes, tires, chain, sprockets, or lights for that matter. Anything thaty might be a few extra bucks now will look mighty cheap if you get hurt or killed 'cause it broke at 65mph. :S

It is up to the owner of each bike to decide what is safe, I rebuilt my brakes but re-used the pads because they has a lot of material left did I skimp? yes, does the bike stop better than ever yes.

If you think the sprockets have little to no ware then just make sure to watch your new chain for wear. It's not like a worn sprocket will cause a chain to go from new to dangerously out of spec on the way to the corner store for a pack of smokes.

Now if there is a good reason to pick up sprockets as well, it is for a 520 swap; get rid of that old 620 anchor chain and put something more reasonable on!
