Disc and Caliper Bolts was created by roccon99
Hey everyone,

I just picked up a front brake system for my 81 KZ650, but unfortunately it didn't include any bolts. I've looked through my manual and online, but I'm having a hard time finding info on the rotor (4 bolt)and calipler bolt size. Besides that, I'm not too sure where I could actually buy the bolts. Any info concerning the size of the bolts and where I can purchase would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Rotor bolts are 10x1.25 I think. Caliper might be the same. I might have extra rotor bolts. Legnths may vary. Can you post a pic of the system?

FYI: Kawasaki.com has diagrams in the owner info section. It seems easiest to do the Search-by-Model-Info without entering a vin or anything... just choose a year only, then pick a bike from the list. The diagrams can help to verify that you've got everything & the cross-reference is kinda handy. Click stuff.

The caliper bolts are 10x47. The rotor bolts are 10x30 & listed in the Fr Hub diagram.
Both bolts have a flanged head.

Good news - a local junkyard gave me the rotor bolts (with those wishbone washers) and the caliper bolts for free. Bad news- it looks like the caliper doesn't fit. I thought the 750 and 650 caliper were identical, but I'm having trouble getting it to fit over the disk. I'm not sure if they sell different flange mounts or if I'm missing something, but it definitely won't fit.

Does anyone know if the caliper pictured above will fit an '81 KZ650 H1. If not, what does the correct one look like (I've seen 3 different ones on ebay all listed as 81 KZ650 calipers). Thanks again for the help.

The 750Ltd-4 disks are smaller in diameter. It may be that they're thinner than the 650-CSR's, so maybe that's why the 750-Ltd caliper won't fit your disk.

When looking for a caliper on ebbaayy, try to find one from a bike they're dismantling. If someone has a bunch of CSR parts listed, then the CSR caliper listed ought to be the right one. just an idea.
