36 rear 34 front...it rarley varies for "me" regardless of the tires make or age or diameter....anything different and i can totally feel the loss of shock absorption and grip by the tires....too much and they are vague and flighty,,,,to little and they squirm and push....said baby bear....

high speed corner wobbles is rear shocks.......there are 20 things it could be...but 95% of the time it is the shock or shock setting imo.....

36 rear will make aworld of dif on a 900....imo

There yall go getting all technical on me and backing it up with a manufactures data.

I myself always go a few pounds under max myself. I ride two up alot so my shocks are on the hard side too. Kinda like riding a stagecoach when I am by myself. I would rather have to do the compensating when I am solo than with a passenger but thats just me and my way of thinking.

Tri is right about finding what works for you and playing around with the pressure.

I understand that the rating on the side wall is for max pressure when under a max load. And I would not care to run tires that hard. Aside from grip issues, it would feel like a shopping cart.

However I've gone back over my maintenance log, and there about 7100 miles on the tires. While there is lots of wear left, the rear is worn quite flat in the centre for much of the tread width, to the point where there is quite an angle between the flat area and where the tire begins to curve to the side wall, a shoulder if you will. If the bike is heeled over so that it is riding on this pointy part of the tire I feel it could slip and catch, slip and catch. I'm not saying I don't need new shocks, I've been wanting to get new ones. But I probably should get new tires any way and see how it goes. Then save up for shocks.

But back to pressures. While running at the bike's recommended pressure (28 &32) seems to be causing premature or adverse wear, max pressure (40) is not reasonable either. I'm a light weight guy, never ride double, and only carry a load when travelling on a long trip. So somewhere in between should be correct.

Whether or not this is the cause of the mid curve high speed wobble or not, is debatable. As plummen noted in the beginning of this thread, it's a place to start. Since i need a new tire any way I'll try it and increase pressures to 34 &36 and check variations at running tempuratures.

OK so I ordered some Hagon shocks for my bike and installed them this evening. Went out and did some quick lane change manouvers. When I did this with the stock shocks, it would wobble quite a bit. Now is still does, but not nearly as bad.

So it appears that the shocks were a part of my wobble problem. We'll see if it's really any better with the new shocks when I try some higher speed turns.

First I need to set the spring tension. I installed them just as they came out of the box. Can any one tell me how to properly check the spring settings on these Hagon shocks?

One other thing to confirm...

In my build, I would get high speed wobble at 80mph, straight or turns, didn't matter... and I have ZX636/6 suspensions....

As it turned out, front brake rotors where warped rubbing in spots

Raised the front wheel, while observing overhead spin the wheel and you'll easily see it right away if that's the problem... ;)
