The lighter the better I say, but with newer tires the tired stock single discs do fade pretty quickly when pushed racey. But it's a perfectly fine setup for a daily rider.

I have the thinner drilled doubles on my 81 1000, and with csr spoked rims, its just as nimble as the older setup.

I think it's just a matter of the intended use. Like tuning setups n' such.

Hmmm... narrow powerband or wide... pods or stock... :P
