I'll have to look when I get home today to see if there is any other markings on my old sprocket.
If the 38t sprocket I have now fits, and has 80 mm center hole. How would I be able to get the 40t on there with only a 74mm center hole?

Sorry - misunderstood - then it should be fine - just a difference in the finish of the sprocket

OK, thanks alot everybody.
Sometimes I just have to check myself once in awhile to make sure I'm still doing the right thing.

Good info anyway - I never knew the B and F1 sprockets were different from the rest of the 650s.

Since I'm obviously not able to tell whether I had a 630 or 530 setup.
What woould be different about the 630 setup as opposed to what I have now?

HereĀ“s a link to some background info on chains and sprockets:
www.gizmology.net/sprockets.htm
Basically a 530 chain is 5/8" from pin center to next pin center, a 630 is 6/8" (3/4"), both have 3/8" wide rollers.
