Chain to Belt Drive

Is it possible to change my chain drive to a belt driven on my 1981 Kawasaki 750 Fx-III

anything is possible, all depends how much time/money you have!
i know this mod is more common with chain-driven cruisers, but the guys at scootworks have a setup for the hayabusa being trialled at the mo as well, so there's definitely hope.

that looks like it may have been a shaft drive frame one time that would be the one to do it with i'm really curious as to why he put eccentrics in at the swing arm pivot as well.

I went the other way with my K1. It was as simple as unbolting the pullies and bolting on the sprockets. You may need to get a belt guard and front pully cover from a K1 to make it work.

Just out of curiosity how do you figure the gear ratio on a belt drive? I would think that the rib centers are spaced different than link centers on a chain. The pic of the counter pulley looks a lot larger than a counter sprocket would be. I have never messed with a belt drive....Inquiring minds would like to know.
