I think the PO had them upside down... they are supposed to give the bike the same style/feel/function as clip ons would give.
I do have a set of Clubman MOT-027ST like those pictured in the second of 77KZ650's pics. I took 'em off and put the stock ones back on. I have no need for 'em so if anyone's interested, let me know.
