Looking For Pictures of Mid 70's Sissy Bars was created by Russ Jackson
I just picked up a NOS mid 70's Kawasaki Sissy Bar on Ebay. It does not have a pad on the back. If anyone has some pictures of a stock one. Or a picture nice mid 70's version I would appreciate it. Thanks Russ

Can't remember whether this sissy bar is a KHI product or not. Might have come from some aftermarket supplier. Same for the add-on rack. The sissy bars appear on ebay sometimes. The rack "might" be a Harley accessory item.

The pad also is an accessory, as the bar looks just as nicely detailed and finished on the front side that's covered by the pad.

Good Luck! :)

I could be mistaken but I think the bar pictured by Patton was NOT OEM but was sold by JC Whitney a few years back. The same one was sold with the same logo for all the metric brands... could be wrong. I have a genuine Kaw luggage rack that came with a sissy bar I don't have. The chome is lousy, by the way. The sissy bar (if I had one) would mount in two uprights spaced the width of the bike itself and the uprights are tube steel and the sissy bar would just fit down in those uprights. When you don't have the sissy bar, they give you a U shaped cross piece of chromed tube steel. This rack was made specifically for the KZ1000E shafty model and was likely manufactured for Kaw in the US as an accessory. The part number on the bar and instructions isn't in the KZ1000E parts fiche.

Here is a picture of the Sissy Bar I bought on EBAY. I will make a back pad to match my new seat. I am still looking for a stitch pattern and back pad mounting bracket. It is not marked Kawasaki but it looks period correct unused and very well built. Any suggestions on the pad bracket would be helpfull...Russ

Here's mine, it was a Kawasaki luggage rack w/removable sissy bar. Just got it on monday so it hasn't been cleaned up yet. As you can see the pad didn't come attached and the downtubes have been braced otherwise the sissybar would be off. The holes on the side are where the attachments that hold the sissy bar (in the ziploc) go. B)

Will be welded/grinded/rechromed and reupholstered before I'm finished
