it is going to be tight i'd be worried about the end of the pass most tracks ive raced at have smooth racing surface and crappy shut down area, i'd be worried about the forks and fenders bottom out against the pipes, at two different races this year i saw guy's that had their forks pulled up thru the trees and hit the brakes hard and crashed because the front wheel locked up.

a sport bike front end with 17" wheel will give u less rake and clearance. my zx9 front end has about 24* rake. stock rake is 26*.
lowering rear of bike would bring rake back to origional numbers;)

Right on.
I have found that 1" at the back is close to 1 degree of rake at the front.
I do prefer less rake on my kz though. It turns easier.

you will have to get to be close personal friends with your freindly neighborhood machinist. any decent machinist should be able to do it, make sure that you keep the same dimentsions as stock so you wont have trouble finding bearings.
