To address the question of what other parts will fit, lots of them. :)

Aa an example, my 79 KZ750B (750 twin) started out as a single front disk, it now has dual 79 KZ1000 rotors, 83-85 GPz750 calipers, and 96 GPz1100 master cylinder. And everything simply bolted on.

if i have a problem getting brake masters and calipers to bleed out normally i take a large [60cc or bigger] syringe and a piece of rubber line and fill it full of brake fluid and crack the bleeder on the caliper that is furthest away from the master and inject the brake fluid up thru the caliper into the master cylinder, if you hold the brake lever open a bit it should fill up the master cylinder when fluid starts to flow good tighten the bleeder and move over to the other side ,repeat on that side, you should be able to get away with out hardly any bleeding and the side benifit is you have clean fresh brake fluid thruout the whole system.

Auto parts stores sell a nifty bottom up brake bleeder tool for around 30 bucks. Well worth it....chris3

Thanks to all for the superb input and advice. My inclination on this endeavor is to replace, if at all possible, all front brake components with new parts. I would consider rebuilding the 2 front calipers, but can not locate kits specifically for a KZ650-C1. As a middle aged geezer of 49, I need to have complete and total confidence that my brakes are 100% dependable. Efficient brakes are not optional, they are essential since there are way too many looney tune drivers on the roads nowadays. I've ridden exclusively with rear brake power and I can tell you that it can be harrowing ride....even on a quiet early Sunday morning. I'll follow up with some of your recommendations and keep you posted.

depending on what diameter piston your calipers have id be willing to bet its same as 77-78 kz1000 z1 enterprises lists rebuild kits for caliper for $29 and some change for each caliper under the kz1000 listing ;)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

The KZ650C from frame # 23101-up uses 43049-002. Frame # 0-23100 uses 43049-001 for the caliper piston seals. Both are common to many models.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
