If I'm not mistaken those motor mount holes are bossed. And it could be like playin' Blackjack n' hitting on 20 with each hole being worth 10. You might get your ace but "I" ain't gonna do it! ;)

Not sure exactly what that means, but the holes go all the way through the tube. Looks like there are short (maybe 1/2" long) tubes welded on each side of the holes to create flat surfaces for the brackets and bolt heads and nuts to lay against.

I think those tubes go all the way through, and that's what we are talking about when we say "boss".

They help to reinforce the frame where it's been drilled.

how about makeing a bracket to go from an existing hole down to where you need to attach the crash bar.

I have been looking at it but it would be very difficult. I don't have a welder.
