That's what confused me because I see everybody selling shims to move the front sprocket away to keep the wider 630 chain from dragging on the engine case? Even Z1 sells them.

That's ok, every 630 chain I have measured has been wider than a 530 chain.

I have no idea what the spec says regarding width, I just know what the actual dimensions are.
