kz900 alloys wheels? was created by kzmason
Did any of the 900's have alloys wheels? If so, can they swap out to the 1000.

Yes, the 1976 900 LTD has cast rims and no they are not a direct swap into a 1000. I know the spoked wheels on the '73-76 900's are drum brake in the rear and I believe the '76 LTD cast rim is as well.

As has been mentioned by Doug, the KZ900B (LTD) had the desireable Morris wheels, but they did have a disk on the rear wheel...it was the only 900 w/a rear disk brake.

Kawasaki dealers sold a Morris Mag kit for the 750B twin back in 79, and there are a few of them around, I bought a NOS set on eBay last year.

And they will bolt right on the 1000's.

16" rear and 19" front.

I somehow thought they might have but couldn't find any solid supporting evidence in the Kz900 gallery.

My local Kaw dealer has a Kz900 with morris mags and drum brakes the wheels were installed by the dealer.they did make tham i saw a set on ebay a while back but i think they were lesters.the 900 LTD was the first and only 900 to leave the factory with disk on rear.they were also the first and only LTD 900.they were only produced 1/2 year.LTD rotors have different offset than regular Kz rotors.I think the calipers are different also.

??? I swapped out drilled rotors to my stock 76 900 LTD with no offset difference. The only difference I have seen in rotors are that the dual disk rotors are thinner by a couple MM than single disk rotors. Lesters are aftermarket I have a set on my 77 650 with drum rear. But they were available for the 900 and a lot of other bikes before that. 76 900 LTD was made in 2 builds in 76. 3 manufacturers are used in making the mags for the LTD series. In 76 it was Morris, then a mfg whose name escapes me right now and then Kawasaki made them themselves. Morris are the original manufacturers and are the more desirable to collectors and restorers.

Is the second manufacturer Enkel? Or is that what the last series were?

Down there is picture of my z900 with kz1000 alloy wheels and the other picture
is with kz750b (twin) spoke wheels.
In both case you must only upgrade your rear brake to the disc. B)

kzmason, that looks like a Morris Mag in that picture, should be marked with a circle with a stylized M inside the circle on the edge of the rim.
