O no on the 650 I have the 530 but I meant the 1000 having the 630 chain. Why go backwards? I think the front might be 15 I am not sure anymore. If I made the rear sprocket smaller, that would decrease rpms right? I think that is what the guitar man is saying. As for wheelies, I only gotten that once with my ex on the back, with the weight on the rear tire.I probably hit 6 or 7000 rpms to get a good speed. Anyhow I am going to do a little house work then go and ride

I can't get the parts diagrams at kawasaki.com to work (the page just keeps reloading), but you probably have 13/33 gearing on the 1000, since that's what most 1000's seem to have.

Yes, if you want to slow down your rpm at cruise then you either need a smaller rear sprocket or a larger front sprocket.

If you are going to replace the chain and sprockets anyway, then I suggest switching to 530, it will probably be cheaper and you can get a better chain (X-ring instead of O-ring, and better materials).
Three teeth smaller on the rear or one tooth larger on the front will probably do what you want.

You are in Denver CO and I am in Indiana, you are going for a ride and I have six inches of snow in my driveway.
That just don't sound fair :D

gg,

i did as you suggested. contacted z-1. suggested a 16 front and 38 rear changing over to the 530 chain. not bad on price. so if anyone has a better thought that is probably what i will go with.
