kz 1000 police handlebars

The handle bar on my police bike seem a bit uncomfortable. I like the height of the bar but i don't like the angle of the bars. they seem to turn in towards the center of the bike more than i want them to. I'm looking for a handle bar that has the same height but is a little straighter.

Any suggestions?

I had a set of Goldwing bars on my '82 P. I liked them for what they were and they seemed to have a lot less turn in then the stock bars. I think they have built in bar weights too.

I may still have them, I'll look around.

Maybe H2 750 bars.. they are solid on inside, rise more than stock and don't turn towards tank as much

same on my original setup i started out lossend handle bars and just pushed them up ward abit got to a point where i pushed them way the hell up as shown on this pic so the looked like ape hangers when u rode wrist was off a little but it was fun then i decided to just mount some drag bars then i decided to mount some high rise dragbars you can get the feel an look you want just need to expermient with it img hanle bars adjusted high for ape hanger style actually like the comfort than the stock position just my taste

Hey tw..., I switched mine out as well. Those cop handle bars are, well, weird. I'm posting a couple pics of how mine look on. Also, te link to where I found them. I will say these folks took quite a while to get them. About 6 weeks, But did stay in touch and offered a refund if I wanted it. Finding 7/8 handlebars is a bear. Hope this helps.

Go with the next step up from the Drag-bars. I think thier called Sport-bars. Take a look at my pic and see if you like that style. Cant beat a $14 deal, new at that.

Hey, while looking over your shots, saw another '78 item that might put a shine on your front end.

The shot below isn't the best, but I'd never needed one to show the fork castings that form the windshield/lightbar mount on the "C" models.

Right behind the windshield and ahead of the gas tank are the parts I'm referring to. They fit right over the forks and provided a solid mount for the associated parts, but they also "cleaned up" the looks of the front end with the shield off. They'd add to that "retro" look you're after...

They're somewhat more common on Ebay and such as those types of castings were used on all Cs from 78-81.
