This bike has the stock ECU, a Powercommander 3 and RC 310cc injectors. It also has a larger Walbro fuel pump. It could do with 370cc injectors to run the larger turbo but I can't afford them at the moment. I'm tempted to put the programmable ECU off my dragbike on this bike as it has a much better ignition system, the stock system is a bit weak and has no facility for boost retard, and it also has better injector drivers.

I haven't got any video of it doing quarters although there is a rather shaky one of it going 170mph on stock pistons on my site. I've bought a pencil cam for this year and hope to get some quarter mile action with that, probably of the track-sky-track-sky variety!

I know there was some activity on your site regarding the MegaSquirt, but I can't find anything recent, any idea what happened? Anyone currently using it?
I assume you have considered it?

20 questions over :D

I have a megasquirt setup in the garage. Used to run it on a Grand Wagoneer (the Jeep is now gone). I'm hoping to put it on the 750twin this winter, Probably as a single throttle body with homemade intake. Haven't decided between that and separate tb for each cylinder.

Although it gets discussed on my site I have limited electronic knowledge and just want to get the job done, so for me the DTA EXP48 programmable ECU was an economic solution for my dragbike and the PC3 was the solution for my streetbike as it retained the stock ECU complete with all the tank warning lights etc., which is just nice to have on a streetbike.

For the price difference and work involved I personally would not consider a MS over a DTA ECU. There are other aspects of the bike I would rather spend my time and money on.

That thread actually relates to a YZF1000 Yam turbo with MS, not a 750 turbo Kawa.

I should have realized that when I saw the "Exup" part, it's just that I seem to assume everything I see on your site is 750 Turbo related

Someday I'll have one :(

I see the turbo is not hooked up, but I assume that is the final mounting position?
It looks like the centerline of the turbo is below the crankcase so the oil drain will flow uphill. Won't that cause a problem with oiling? Or do you have a separate oiling system for the turbo?

If you look across from the sight glass you will see that the turbo is actually higher. I haven't fitted the new turbo yet.

Right the new turbo is on and I've managed to refit the fairing sidepanels after chopping the ally fairing "wing" in half and cutting both pieces around to fit. No doubt the purists will be throwing up their hands in horror at that! Not long til first meet of the season now, still got quite a bit to do, swap the injectors, fit Busa back wheel (black to match the front), bleed brakes etc but on schedule. Also got a camcorder and bullet cam off ebay for some on board filming, probably of the track-sky-track-sky-ambulance variety!
