When comparing part numbers between the 1978A2 (single front disc) and later 1979A3 (dual front disc), the top cap, plastic plate and rubber diaphram have the same part numbers for both master cylinder sizes. Of course the part numbers are different for the smaller 1/2 inch piston and larger 5/8 piston, and different for the entire assemblies -- the 1/2 assembly is 43015-1007 and the 5/8 assembly is 43015-1009.

I was on this side, but as you have told me, that´s the master-cylinder of the douple disc, with the bigger piston. On the posted micro-fish, I have no comparisson possibilitiy with my own cylinder, so I have the idea of the pic. But, I think I have made a great stepp. As I have told, the german dealer Klamso has a piston with 14 mm in the online-catalog. On my part I find the following No. (see pic, "under-side") It seems, I have the master-cylinder with the smaller piston.

The under-side markings on my 1978 KZ1000A2 front master cylinder (used with single front disc) are exactly the same as shown in your photograph. Perhaps the "14" is millimeters which is 0.55 inch (close enough to say 1/2 inch). Your photograph is of a 1/2 inch bore master cylinder (the master-cylinder with the smaller piston).

Hi together,

by my friends Z (BAD - Q 80) Z 1000 A1 1977, Europe-Modell, with Douple-Disc, we find "under"-side of the round Master-cylinder 5/8. This is near 16 mm. (see pic)

Why we have now a inch-"tatoo" by an europe Z and a mm-"Tatoo" by a US-Modell, don´t ask me :blink: :dry:
