id buy it without worrying about it. its an excellent starter bike, and a good carb cleaning and petcock rebuild should have it running

The only known problems with it are a bad solenoid and the tank leaks out all the gas at the cutoff valve.... I have never owned a bike before but have always wanted one. The price makes me want to get it. What do you guys think?

Like Biquetoast said, it's more of a hobby than a mode of daily transportation. Before negotiating get dealer prices on the parts needed just to get it basically to "go" again. Show him that and see if your lower offer doesn't have more weight to it.

Good luck!

you can check bike bandit for the prices, but as long as you dont have an oil leak. And yes crank the bike before you buy it mine had a excessive bearing clearance in the crank rod. Listen for noises and if there is a noise buy the the bike for 50 dollars cos you will need the rest of the money to fix it. lol just kidding

kawasaki starting making 750(4)'s in 1972 and called them Z2's...some got imported in the gray-market...1980 is the first year that they 'officially' available in the US.
