No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI've been sourcing parts for a 1981 gpz1100 project I have, and I've noticed that there are 85mph max USA spec speedos, KPH speedos, and today I saw the listing below on ebay that's MPH/KPH with a max speed of 160 mph.

I'm curious what the electrical differences are between the 85mph max and the 160mph speedos. I'll need to restore my gauges and I'd like to use the 160mph face.

Are you going to use the 160 mph speedo or just the face?
I don't know for sure, but I bet the speedo drive will work with either speedometer.

I would Love to get rid of my 85 mph speedo on my 82 GPz. Who came out with that ridiculous law anyway?

Sometimes you can find a 100+ mph speedo on EB UK. It'll probably take some time, though.

Interesting point, I was wondering about the 85MPH speedos also. Were they just used on the USA spec bikes or Canadian with MPH readouts. The reason I bring it up is a local friend with a KZ1300 wanted to change-out his 85MPH to the 160 also. He brought me a set of 160 gauges. Of course the needles bow and turn to brittle dust on these over time so I made him some new needles and he was good to go. but where did they come from??
