Nerdy, That lens is only 6 1/4" in diameter. And Nic, already have all the stock mounting hardware as my KZ headlight is complete and working. Just trying to switch from sealed beam unit to H4.
And Swest, I'm assuming just purchase the Emgo H4 lens from your Link and it will bolt right into my stock headlight hardware ?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI converted a GS550 from sealed beam to H4 by simply purchasing an H4 lamp assembly in the same size and screwing it into the stock bucket. Couldn't be simpler. Many motorcycles use common 7" headlamps so that makes it easy. I bought mine off JC Whitney but it seems they don't sell them any longer. I'm sure there are other sources though...
Lots of options on ebay. This is just one.

Wow I'm looking at doing the same. I found a candlepower 7" H-4 replacement at Dennis Kirk. It's a quartz round lamp that should fit. Need to do some more research but claims to fit $38.00 with 60/55 watt bulb.
Let me know what you think.

Nessism, I pulled the headlight assembly apart and looked at the back side of my sealed beam lamp. Has 3 locating tabs for the mounting ring. Compared my lamp with others on eBay i.e.. Emgo # 66-75806 Looks the same as my stock lamp. So should be a go.
Even though tis H4 lamp comes with a 60/55W bulb what Wattage bulb should I use or would this one be alright ?

Found the Wattage rating of the stock Stanley 001-1014 lamp 50/35 Watts.
So I'm wondering if this Emgo lamp ( 60/55W ) will be alright ?

You will be fine with that 60/55W bulb.

I've used a number of different headlamps on my KZ650-C1 over the past 40 years including H4, stock, sealed Halogen, etc. I have found the Wagner H6024 Halogen sealed beam to be the most reliable lamp that fits directly into the stock shell and it provides very bright light, and no moisture or dirt can infiltrate the lens. Here's a link to where I have bought them -

Here are the specs. Notice the wattage is nearly the same as the stock lamp. Ed

Next time I'll entertain this sealed beam lamp, but for right now I ordered this one.
